You did find time to record some new material didn't you?
We've already recorded 4 or 5 songs for the new album and a selection of B-sides. We start the next section with John Leckie in a couple of weeks and we are going to be recording that in Peter Gabriele's studio - it's got loads of spaces so we can set up the drums in different rooms to get different vibes.
Spaces, vibes, what's that all about?
We are getting bones in. I've got a friend who is studying to be a surgeon, and I'm hoping she can get us some skulls because I want to use bone percussion on this one song called 'Razor Optics', which has a really dark vibe.
The new single 'Plug in Baby' is the most in you face record you've made isn't it?
With the first album it was the first time we had been in a professional studio with all the equipment and possibilities. So we tended to experiment and move away from what we are live to try and find ourselves. But I think we found ourselves playing live and this record represents the energy from playing so much.
When will the album be finished?
The recording will be done by March, then we have to mix it. Maybe release it June time.
